The CR2450 is a high-capacity 3 volt lithium coin cell, 24.5 mm across and 5 mm thick, holding 550 to 620 mAh, about two and a half times a CR2032. It dominates flameless candles, premium key fobs, wireless sensors and other devices built for long runtimes.

CR2430: Same diameter at 3 mm height and roughly half the capacity; not interchangeable.
CR2477: Same diameter, 7.7 mm tall, about 1000 mAh, for even longer service.
⚠️ Large coin cells are the most dangerous size if swallowed, and glowing candle devices attract children. Keep spares locked away and tape battery doors on tealights used around kids.
Buying and replacement notes
Two buying notes. First, Renata's CR2450N has a small flange (a wider lip on the negative side) that some holders require and others cannot accept; if your device came with an N, replace with an N. Second, this size increasingly appears in cheap candle multipacks with wildly optimistic capacity claims; genuine Panasonic or Murata cells commonly double the runtime of unbranded ones in continuous-drain devices.

⚠️ Keep away from children. Swallowed button batteries, especially 20 mm lithium coins, cause severe injury within hours. If a child swallows one, call the 24/7 National Battery Ingestion Hotline (US) at 800-498-8666 or poison control at 800-222-1222 immediately. What every parent should know.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between CR2450 and CR2032?
Size and capacity. The CR2450 is 24.5 x 5.0 mm at 550-plus mAh; the CR2032 is 20 x 3.2 mm at about 230 mAh. Both are 3 V lithium, but they fit entirely different holders, so one can never substitute for the other.
What does the N in CR2450N mean?
It is Renata's flanged variant: the cell has a lip that locates it precisely in holders designed for it. Electrically it matches a standard CR2450. Devices built around the flange need the N type; ordinary holders may not close over it.
How long does a CR2450 last in an LED candle?
A quality cell runs a typical flickering tealight 150 to 200 hours, so about a month of 5-hour evenings. Timer modes (commonly 5 hours on, 19 off) let one cell last a season. No-name cells often manage half that.
Why do premium car fobs use the CR2450?
Proximity keys transmit and listen constantly, and comfort features like walk-away locking multiply the duty cycle. The CR2450's capacity keeps replacement intervals civilized, one to three years, where a CR2032 in the same role would need annual changes.
