CR2450 vs CR2477
The CR2450 and CR2477 are the two heavyweights of the 24.5 mm lithium coin family, both 3 volts. The CR2450 is 5 mm thick with 550 to 620 mAh. The CR2477 is 7.7 mm thick with a full 1000 mAh. Same footprint, very different height, so they rarely interchange.

The CR2450 is the retail one. It powers flameless candles, premium key fobs, wireless sensors, thermostats, meat thermometers and glucose sensor transmitters, and you can buy it in a supermarket. The CR2477 is the industrial one, built for devices that must run unattended for years: asset tracking tags, IoT beacons, utility meters and long-life tealights. At the 10 to 20 microamp average drain typical of a beacon, a CR2477 runs five years or more.
Because the diameter matches, the temptation is to treat them as swappable. The 2.7 mm height gap says otherwise. A CR2477 will not fit a compartment moulded for a 5 mm cell, and a CR2450 in a CR2477 holder usually sits too low for reliable contact. Check the number stamped on the cell rather than the diameter you can see.
Both sizes have a flanged variant, written with an N, where a wider lip on the negative side keys into certain holders. Some holders require the flange and others cannot accept it, so if an N came out, put an N back in. Buying notes also differ: the CR2450 appears in cheap candle multipacks with optimistic capacity claims, while the CR2477 is mostly sold through electronics distributors.
